We all remember the author of this book. If not, you might remember his works. This was the guy that brought Jurassic Park to us. And many other books that has been brought into movies and into our lives. 13 of this books has been made into movies. And he was the creator of the famed ER series. This guy is great. He writes science fiction that makes our mind spins, and think that it’s actually possible.

I just knew that he died in 2008. Such a loss to the literary world. It passed me without noticing it.

This book is very interesting. It’s about some scientists in Hawaii who got shrunked and they have to survive in the wild jungle of Hawaii. It is very different when you are half an inch in size. All the living things that were small has become big and you have to fight them off to survive. And it doesn’t help that you have a maniac that is out to kill you. You develop your interest in the characters and it’s not fun when they died one by one. At last, there’s two that survives.

I don’t think that the technology that is put forward in this book would materialize soon. If not at all, but it’s interesting when you can wonder.

This book gives an interesting view of the jungle life when you are small and I love it. Crichton did not managed to finish this book so the publisher has asked someone else to do it. But it is still good. I didn’t see any lag in the reading of the book.
